You Owe It To Yourself to FEEL GOOD (Because The Law Of Attraction Does Work)

I was at a training this past week that was all about the Power in You (Do Yourself a Favor  right now and go to one of their FREE evening courses. YOUR life will never be the same again).

Now I’m a person who works on myself all the time. I am aware of what I think and say to myself – at least as much as I can get out of my own head.  I would consider myself to be very self observant.  I also know that I don’t know everything and so I went into this training with an open mind and ready to soak it all in.

I wasn’t disappointed.  In fact, I was blown away at how much I grew during three short days and how I FELT afterwards.  This wasn’t one of those “ra ra – feel good” sessions that fizzles out after a few days.  It was absolutely life changing and allowed me to face and let go of some deep stuff.

“Stuff” is a great technical term for all those things we carry around that stand in our own way.

I realized that The Law of Attraction works.  In fact it works so well that it’s incredible!  And the key to it is emotion.  Yes, emotion.  Knowing what you want is important too – but not as important as emotion.  The universe and your Unconscious Mind don’t care about what you want to attract – they only care about how you feel about it.  Good or bad feelings – the predominant will always win.  Let me explain.

I have an interesting life story – we all do, in fact, but I will use my own as an example.  Throughout my life I learned how to see the world, how to feel about things, how to behave in different circumstances, how to focus on things, and other “stuff.”  Now I want to be exceedingly clear that everything in life happens for a reason and I do not blame my past or anyone in it for where I am today.  Not anymore.  I used to, but that’s another post.

Some things in my life work for me and others don’t.  In some areas of my life I attract exactly what I want and in others I struggle.  In fact, I don’t even feel very good about some areas of my life.  I don’t really know what I want but I feel bad about not having it.  These bad feelings keep attracting more of what I don’t want.  I realized that I even felt bad about wanting something different in such areas as my health and my career, and so I kept attracting more of what made me feel bad.  Whereas in my immediate family, I aways felt good about my relationship with my husband and now with my kids, and so my family life is fantastic!

So the point is that if you know what you want and you feel good about it you will get more of what you want.

If you don’t know what you want and you feel bad about what you do have, you will keep attracting more of what you have.

If you do know what you want but you’re not emotionally attached to it, you will keep attracting more of what you have.

How do we get emotionally attached to what we want?  We have to know what gives us meaning in our life.  I’m so grateful that I know how to let past negative emotions and limiting beliefs go easily and quickly because I can now focus more on what I want.  And I can feel what I want which means that I am activating the Law Of Attraction to bring me closer to my dreams.

So if you want to prove to yourself that the Law Of Attraction works, just keep thinking what you’re thinking and feeling what you’re feeling, and you’ll get more of what you’re getting.

I feel like I made a quantum leap in my mindset during this course I just took and I am going to share it with the world.  I can now feel what it’s like to dream big and believe that I can achieve that dream!

FOR REAL! The Power in You is life changing!

Creating Feel Good Goals

I took a different approach to this year’s goals.  This new approach was inspired by the book Manifesting Change by Mike Dooley.  In it he talks a lot about how to really get what you want. And although I disagree with some of it and in my opinion, he skirts a few issues that are important, it’s a fantastic read and really gets you thinking about how to get what you want.  I mean really, in layman’s terms and it makes sense what he says.

So my goals for this year are still related to my business and my family life, but this year I’m focused more on internal stuff.  By that I mean on the way I feel and what type of experience I want to creat in my life as opposed to just having a goal for goal’s sake and because it’s what I should have as a business owner.

My main focus this year is prosperity – that’s my one word theme for 2011.  All my results that I want to achieve center around this theme.  And it’s not just about money because money has only a little bit to do with prosperity.

This year I want to creat meaning in every moment that I have with my family.  I want to continue to connect in meaningful ways with friends and new business people.  I want to feel that every action I take or don’t take really has a purpose in bringing me closer to my end result.  I want to greedily FEEL more good emotions than negative ones.  I want to do whatever I can do help others become what they are meant to be. I also want to take very good care of me – emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

I’m going to

1. Be Grateful for everything I am and have in my life right now.

2. Focus on my end results.

3. Take action every day.

All these things bring prosperity in material and non-material ways.  So as much as I have financial goals and fitness goals with numbers in them, the numbers are not necessarily the main focus for me.  The experience is the main focus.  And that’s different from what I’ve done in the past.  I’m really excited about my year and my new approach!

Excerpt from the Fresh Perspective System: What you don’t want

What You Don’t Want

You’ve probably heard it said that what you think about expands. What does this mean exactly? It means that wherever you put your focus and attention, you get more of that. Think about it this way: in the area of your life where you have everything you want and it’s working like a finely oiled machine, your focus is very likely not on all the things that make it not work. It’s on those wonderful things that make it such a great part of your life! If you’re a healthy and fit individual that is in great physical state then you don’t go around worrying that you’re going to lose that. Just like if you have a meaningful, close and loving relationship with your spouse you don’t spend your days thinking about how to avoid the next fight or argument. You don’t have to worry about such things because they are not part of your life. Because you don’t think about them or focus on them, they don’t come into your awareness. You focus on being healthy and on loving and respecting your spouse. And that’s what you get more of!

Now, in the area where you don’t have everything you want you probably spend a lot of your day worrying and thinking about how bad things are. If you don’t like your current job you focus on all the ways in which you don’t like it. Or if you’re battling your weight you focus on all the ways in which your body doesn’t behave or look like what you want it to. And you get more of the same! Even when you try to change something you are stopped by all sorts of fears that come up for you.

We can look at this from the scientific perspective too. Your unconscious mind doesn’t process negatives. Your unconscious mind is also the goal getter, it’s where your values, motivation, behaviours, beliefs, and attitudes are encoded. (This is why this System focuses so much on working with your unconscious mind – because that’s where the change must occur for it to last.)

When you think about what you want in your amazing relationship your unconscious mind helps you get more of that because you’re thinking about it in positive ways. For example, I want respect and love and closeness.

When you think about not wanting to be heavy or not wanting that job you hate, you think about it in the negative. For example, “I don’t want to be heavy and unhealthy” or “I wish I wasn’t so tired all the time” or “I don’t like this job.” Your unconscious mind can’t process “do not want” or “do not like” and what it hears you saying and thinking is “I do want” or “I do like.” And that’s what it helps you get.

“You can’t not think about something without first thinking about it; think about that.” ~Dr Matthew James.

The good news is that you already know what you don’t want. Once you clear all that out you can begin to focus on what you do want so that you get more of it in your life. Worksheet #2 will get you started listing all the things you don’t want.  Sometimes you need to empty yourself of all the negatives in order to be able to focus on the positives.

Unplug and Plug YOURSELF in

I believe that UNPLUGGING yourself from technology and media influence is a very inportant part to any persons life. I do not mean to unplug permanently, but we all need to take a break from our Blackberry, IPhone/Ipod, Android and all the fantastic social media options available to us now. I believe in technology 100%. I have a Blackberry myself and love what I can do with it. It has been a means for Kasia and I to stay connected when she is 3,000 miles away from home and the kids want to tell her something that just happened or just to say I Love You at random. It has also been an incredible option for me to be able to stay connected via email as I am not home very often. But all of that can take over a persons life very quickly. It has been stated in the media the the last thing that most people do is check their social media and it is also the first thing that they do when they get up in the morning. We need to turn this stimuli off once in a while and get ourselves away from the connections so that we can reconnect with the Universe. What I mean by reconnecting with the Universe is that, we all need to get into nature once in awhile, and this is what i mean by plugging ourselves in. Dr. Deepak Chopra states that when we return to nature it is the fastest way for us to recharge our batteries. You cannot however recharge your batteries when you are distracted by oustside stimuli like you iphone or blackberry. Take the time to enjoy your surroundings and REALLY take it all in. Take really deep breaths enjoying what nature smells like. Stop at a lookout or two and enjoy the view. Go with someone you love and take the time to re-connect with them as well. We do this regularily in our family even if we just go to the local nature park not far from our house. I find that I have a much higher more centred level of energy after our walk or hike and its a great way to educate your kids on how to respect nature. I suggest leaving your technology at home or in the car when you go, but if you must carry it with you, TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY, not just on silent mode. I will now use one of my favorite lines from the Comor sports store. “Go Play Outside.”

How I Communicate

Minding Your Universal Manners

As kids we were taught to always say Please and Thank You to others, and this is a very good thing to do.  It promotes kindness and respect among people.  I think many of us consider ourselves as polite and kind individuals so I was very surprised to learn this important lesson about my own manners from the universe.

I’ve been working with a wonderful and intuitive coach and mentor on limiting beliefs and mindset struggles surrounding abundance that have resurfaced for me.  It surprised me to have this “stuff” come up because I do a lot of inner work with myself and have dealt with these issues before.  My mentor smiled and said to me that it’s common for the plumber to have leaky pipes or the mechanic to have squeaky brakes.  In other words, it’s easier to help others with their “stuff” than to help yourself.  This is why I love working with a coach – they pull out things that I can’t pull out of my own head.

During our sessions my coach sometimes channels messages from the universe.  As I was sharing my frustrations about attracting these struggles again and again, she looked with that look she gets when she channels and said “It’s because you haven’t been grateful for the lessons the universe is wanting to teach you.”

Esther and Jerry Hicks write about the power of gratitude and how important it is.  I keep a gratitude journal and we’ve started a family gratitude book that we write in every day.  I realized that I practice gratitude for the good things in my life but not for all the other things: the more difficult events and people that lead me to learn valuable things.

My coach helped me release the internal struggles and I also immediately began expressing gratitude for everything – the good and the not so good.  And almost immediately everything changed in this area of my life.  I am attracting abundance in so many different ways now.  It’s like the universe was waiting for me to just be polite towards the abundance so that I would receive it easily.

If you have an area in your life where you’re struggling continually even though you’ve worked on it before, chances are your mindset (your internal thoughts, feelings, and values) is misaligned.  Once you release the struggle and express gratitude for it, you will be amazed at the changes you will experience in your life.  Your mindset will be aligned with your conscious goals and you will easily achieve those goals.
A coach can be an invaluable asset while you’re making changes in your life because they listen without judgment and are there only for you.  Of course you can speak about things with friends and family but it’s not the same as having an impartial partner who holds a safe space for you to explore all your oprtions.  To get to the bottom of your internal struggles and refocus your energy where you want it within one day, book your free Strategy Session to discover if working with us is right for you.

Meeting those people

I’ve been reading this awesome book lately called the Intention Experiment by Lynn McTaggert.  She writes about the science behind intention.  It’s been quite a learning experience to read about all the different types of experiments and research being done in this area.

I’ve been a student and practitioner of Intention for many years.  And no matter how much I think I know, there is more to learn, to practice, and to receive.  It’s definitely been a journey.

One of the main intentions I had put out for this past year was connections.  I wanted to meet the right people who would catch my vision and help me move it forward.  And when I look back at where I am today compared to when I first put that intention out there, it humbles me!

I’ve had so many synchronistic meetings and encounters with just the right people this year!  One person would lead me to another and I would get excatly what I needed even before I knew I wanted it sometimes.

I often get asked what I do to bring in clients and my answer is I network a lot.  The next logical question is then “does that work?” My answer is absolutely!  Because I always meet the right people at the right time.  And they are always those people that I need in my life.  My purpose in wanting to connect with others is not to meet everyone in a room or at an event.  Of course, the more people know about my work the better, but that’s not the whole idea.  I want to connect with those people who I am meant to connect with and build a relationship with to help both our visions.

I’ve been very fortunate so far that the Universe is bringing those people to me.  I get so excited when we begin brainstorming and envisioning what we can accmplish together.  Intention really works whether scientifically or on faith.  It works and I’m glad I found it all those years ago.

Doing Whatever it Takes!

I have been thinking about this comment that was said to me a couple of months ago and I have finally realized that I have been living my life this way for as long as I can remember. I will only reflect on bits and pieces that are the most meaningful to me at this point. Before Kasia and I had our own business I used to work in the hotel industry which in itself is a very demanding field to be in,  but I took it to the next level on several occasions one of which included a 36 hour shift. When we had our own Auto Repair shop I delivered newspapers in the middle of the night to keep the business afloat and keep our children fed and warm. Did I think about myself in these times? I can honestly say, without a shadow of a doubt, I did not. My biggest concern was providing for my family and doing whatever it took to do that.

Even just thinking about my favorite movies, they are all related to doing whatever it takes to get to where you need to be. “Lord of the Rings”, Frodo does what needs to be done to save Middle Earth, The “Jason Bourne Trilogy”, Jason Bourne does whatever it takes to find out who he really is,”Oceans 11,12 and 13″, again the team does whatever it takes to pull off their final goal. Some movies that you may or may not know and are a little more on the edgy side of life are the movie “8 Mile” by Eminem, this one is about Marshal Mathers a.k.a Eminem trying to become a rap star even though he comes from a broken family living in a trailer park with his drug addicted alcoholic mother all the while fighting the negative feedback he is getting for being a caucasion rapper.  And one last one along those lines as well is “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” with 50 Cent as the lead. This is 50 cents life story about being involved in drug dealing and gang relations as a teenager and then trying to break free from that life. He runs into resistance in the streets and eventually gets shot but fights back and eventually he makes it fulfilling his ultimate dream. These may be very extreme examples but they resonate with DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES, because all the characters in those examples did whatever it took to reach their ultimate goal.

Even just a few years back when Kasia came to me telling me very passionately that she needs to give back to the world, that we did not go through our life experience to not give back and teach others that there is a better way. Once again the fighter inside me was fired up and I asked her, what do you need from me. I had very recently started training to be a transit operator and as soon as I could I was working the late evening shift so Kasia could work day shift and do her schooling at night with no distractions. The kids were sleeping and I was at work. Don’t get me wrong they were trying times as well, we always tell people it was like having an affair with your own spouse, only seeing each other a few days a month. But we did it this time knowing there was a very bright light at the end of that tunnel.

Even now we are both working in Fresh Perspective Family as a team, while I still drive the bus full time and we are doing whatever it takes to get our message and teachings out there. It would be very selfish if we did not share our knowledge of living a better, more fulfilling life as parents with kids that will do whatever it takes, and not take “I can’t do this” for an answer. Kids that march to the beat of their very own drum, with an extremely positive outlook on life and taking responsibility for ALL their actions. We are teaching our kids that if you do something amazing, OWN IT, if you mess something up big time, OWN IT, and of course everything in between as well.

My final thoughts to you all are OWN whatever you do and DO whatever it takes to OWN what you are doing. Please leave your comments. I appreciate all feedback.

All our Projections

I’m in New York City for a few days this week and also in Stamford, CT, for a few days at my mastermind meeting.  NYC is a busy city – the busiest I have ever witnessed.  Even Vancouver, which was busy during the Olympics, pales in comparison to the crowds and traffic of NYC.

What struck me while we made our way on the subway to Manhattan and also while walking around, sightseeing, is the types of people that would speak to or interact with us.  We had to ask for directions a few times and we also bought food and a couple little things.  The people, for the most part, were friendly and helpful. Some of them were annoyed and some extremely passionate about what drives them crazy.

Dr Matthew James teaches about perception is projection.  This is a concept that most people who are familiar with the NLP field will know about.  It means that the world outside of us is a projection of what’s inside of us.  It means, that those people I meet who are negative and focus on what they don’t want are at some level reflecting back to me what I still feel deep down.

Some people are negative and that’s their stuff and as much as we are all beings of energy and we live in a holographic universe, we still experience the physical world around us.  So people have their own stuff and they love to share it.  I love to share my stuff too!  I strive to focus on the stuff that empowers and inspires me.  I don’t complain about things that are within my control to change – most of the time.   I also tend to attract people who are kind, positive, and have high energy about them.  And sometimes I interact withe people who are the opposite, it’s inevitable.

So where am I going with all this?  Well, that no matter how much releasing and self work we do, until we enlighten, there will always be bits and pieces of ourselves to work on.   The people we interact with will keep reflecting back to us what we project out there.  And this is a good thing!  Because it gives us a gauge of where we’re at.

Now that I am working within my true purpose here and building this business to empower others, I keep meeting more and more high energy people who pull me forward.  Which means that I am projecting out there more and more of what I want and more of the details of what’s possible for me.  I’m fortunate – so very fortunate! – that my husband, my kids, and some other members of my family understand what I want to build and support me so deeply in my pursuits.  It means that my projections to the universe have always reflected the things that I wanted to achieve, even before I knew about them.  And to me this is a comforting thought.

It’s important for all of us to keep focusing on what we want and to be relentless about this.  The more we do, and the more we release our limits and self imposed ceilings, the better the world will reflect positive changes that we’re creating.  That’s the beauty of perception is projection!   There are so many awesome and easy tools to help release these things – all it takes is commitment and desire to do it.  Then we see what’s possible and we begin to understand the steps that we need to take to get what we want.  (Now, knowing how to know what you want – if you don’t know how to do that – that’s another blog post.)

Good lesson on focus and intention today

I spoke to a wonderful group of moms this morning and had such a great time. I decided to really put into practice what my energy healer and other teachers have been telling me.  It’s all stuff I know…and today I decided that I would implement and not just think.

I created a focus and intention before going into the conference room to give my speech and I wrote a goal card for this morning.  I have been looking forward and preparing to speak to this group for a few weeks and I wanted to make sure I did my absolute best. So my attitude and energy were on board, and now my focus and intention were on board.

There were some babies crying and people coming in late and other noise.  And my presentation went off without a hitch! I engaged the audience, they had tons of questions, and I felt like I really developed a good connection with them.  At the end I asked about what they had learned and many of the moms had some awesome takeaways that they shared.

I’m very fortunate to have had this speech go so well. I know that it’s not just luck but that it’s my own willingness and determination to show up.  I intended all my ducks to line up and did my part to make sure that they would, and they did!

Thank you universe.
